Lana thinks her boyfriend Collin is a great guy, but there's one problem -- he's a "one-note dresser." And that note is a T-shirt! He's got one for any occasion, whether it's casual or formal. Lana is still scarred from his worst offense at her friend's semi-formal graduation party. "I was in a dress and he was wearing his work pants with a T-shirt he got from a golf course for free!" she cries.
Rachael brings in her fashion buddy Gretta to help Lana broaden Collin's wardrobe. Gretta's strategy? "We're not trying to change him, just make him more polished." Recognizing that Lana isn't the only woman who's got this problem with her other half, Gretta offers some general tips, like, giving your man a few new clothing items to choose from -- don't overwhelm him with choices, but rather purchase one or two items that you like and let him pick one.
Gretta shows Lana some clothing options that will have Collin looking dapper while still keeping him in his comfort zone ... at least a little!
Collin's entire shoe collection consists of work boots and four pairs of beat-up sneakers. Knowing that Collin won't budge on being comfortable -- nor should he have to -- Gretta suggests an elegant black or brown boot and simple black sneakers that can be worn with pants or jeans.
Collin loves vintage rock tees, but a lot of them are old and full of holes. Gretta suggests Lana pick one of Collin's favorite bands and upgrade to a new T-shirt. A slick-looking T-shirt will look great layered underneath a button-down, and you don't have to stick with a plain white button-down either. A velvet jacket or soft funky-type jacket works well with T-shirts or button-downs, and can be worn with dark jeans or pants.
What does Collin think of his new look? Is he comfortable with his new clothes? "It looks all right," he admits. "And not too intimidating!"
