"Rival Ray" showdowns have crowned the best tacos in the West and the best family ribs, and now it’s time to crown Chicago's top hot dog!
• Superdawg Drive-in. Owner Don Drucker, 49, declares that the Chicago hot spot started by his in-laws in 1948 has the best dog in town (and even comes in a cute box!): "It's a bigger and juicier dog than you find anywhere else!"
• Jimmy's Red Hots. Third generation co-owner Rose Faruggia, 24, prides herself on the family's traditional style of serving up dogs, and warns the competition, "All you other hot dog stands don't stand a chance; bring it on, we'll serve you!"
• The Wiener's Circle. "Come to The Wiener's Circle and take a bite of this, suckers!" says co-owners Barry Nemerow, 54 and Larry Gold, 63, who are known not only for their hot dogs but also for their back talk that has customers in stitches: "We're number one because we have the best hot dog and the best late night show in town!"
To judge this "Rival Ray," Rachael calls on a friend from Chicago who is never afraid to be in the middle of a conflict - Jerry Springer! "Chi-town's biggest hot dog is right here!" he says pointing to himself. Jerry's talk show is heading into its 20th season, he's hosting of a new show called Baggage on the Game Show Network, and he's travelling the country with some of America's Got Talent's brightest stars. Perhaps being on the road might be a good thing for judge Jerry: "I can't go back to Chicago now because whoever comes in third is going to kill me!"
