Instant Human Lab: Hair-fomercials
We've all seen infomercials late at night for products that claim to give us the hair of our dreams, but do they really work? Three audience members are finding out in "Human Lab: Hair-fomercials!"
The Instyler
Julie says she cannot tame her wild crazy hair. "It's an accessory of its own," she says, about her curly locks. "I like the fact that it makes me look different, but at the same time, my friends call me 'Amazon woman.'" Julie would like to be able to straighten it herself without turning her hair into a frizzy 'do, so Gretta gives her the InStyler Rotating Iron, which claims to "straighten and style while adding volume and body to your hair at the same time."
Toppik Hair Building Fibers
Gilbert explains that his hair began to disappear five years ago -- right around the time that he got married. "Don't get me wrong, I adore and love my wife," he notes. "It was purely coincidental!" But Gilbert's receding hairline is no laughing matter to him or the millions of men and women with thinning hair, so Gretta gives him Toppik Hair Building Fibers, which claims to "quickly and undetectably fill out any balding or thinning areas."
Hairagami
As a busy mom of three, Carolyn often puts her hair up in a clip or a ponytail to save time on primping, but she thinks that her "mom hair" could use some updating. "It's always up, but not stylish," she says. "I would love to put my hair up and not look too dated." Gretta has her try Hairagami, the "snap action design tool for creating beautiful hair fashions with ease."
