Do you wake up in the morning with puffiness or dark circles under your eyes? Or maybe those crow's-feet are a bit more noticeable these days? Imagine having to be on TV at 5 a.m. without looking like you've had no sleep! Three morning news anchors test products aimed to combat tired eyes in our latest "Human Lab."
Puffy eyes
Cynthia Demos of WFOR-4 Miami says, "My main focus is for viewers to watch me and not be distracted by anything [on my face], so they can pay attention to the story, because that's my job." She points out that the lights on set aren't very forgiving, and the shadows they cast make it harder to conceal any flaws. "I would pay a lot of money to get rid of my puffy eyes," says the single anchor who wants to be able to enjoy the Miami nightlife without it showing too badly on the air!
Cynthia experiments with Spa Cells Facial Sponge, which claims to stimulate blood flow to decrease puffiness under the eyes.
Dark circles
"It's like whoa, what is going on under my eyes!" cries Rhonda Walker, a WDIV-Detroit anchorwoman with early morning hours. "I have these dark circles under my eyes, and I feel like I'm a slave to makeup because of it," explains the shoe fanatic, who is so desperate to find a solution that she'd give up shoe shopping if she found the right product.
Rhonda tries the Borba Age Defying Targeted Wrinkle Treatment, which claims to diminish the appearance of dark circles, puffiness and wrinkels under the eye area.
Crow's-feet
"High definition TV is the worst thing that has ever happened to broadcasters, particularly women," declares Ginger Allen of KTVT-Dallas, whose alarm goes off at 1:55 a.m. every day. The high-tech cameras catch every detail in an anchorperson's face, which makes concealing the little lines she's discovered around her eyes a top priority. "I would do just about anything to get rid of these crow's-feet!" pleads Ginger.
Ginger tries the Cupron Cosmetic Skin Appearance-Enhancing Satin Pillowcase, which claims to generate healthier-looking skin, reduce the appearance of fine lines, crow's-feet and wrinkles, and leave your skin vibrant and glowing.
