"My pantry is a disaster!" says 40-year-old Laurie. "It's like the Bermuda triangle: When things go in, they don't come out!" After years of stocking up on sale items that she doesn't even need, Laurie's pantry is so crammed with food and supplies that she's had to create an overflow area on a table and store a huge stack of snacks for her kids.
It's the perfect challenge for Kristan Cunningham, who stops in to give the pantry a makeover, including an affordable new shelving system, drawers with baskets and stacking storage containers to create an organized, efficient pantry. Laurie can't believe the results: "Oh my God, you can walk in!" she says. "It's great, I love it." But does she think she can maintain the new look? "My husband hopes so!"
One of KC's first tips for getting any area organized is to make it pretty. "If it's pretty, you're going to want to keep it neat," she explains. Click on the video above to find out how to turn around an unsightly storage shelf.
