Luckily, Rach's DIY buddy Kristan Cunningham comes to the rescue with tips to help keep the house from getting destroyed ... and to help Dawn from losing her sanity!

• If your carpet is stained beyond recognition, put carpet tiles over the existing carpet. That way you can simply remove one tile and wash it if your child stains it. Or, if something more serious happens, it's easy and cost effective to replace one square rather than an entire carpet.
• If your child has a tendency to draw on your walls, check out peel and stick chalkboard sheets that can be attached to any surface.
• Instead of a glass coffee table that can be dangerous for kids (and often requires parents to attach unsightly bumper pads to avoid accidents). opt for a fabric ottoman to use as your coffee table.
