"Bottom-of-the-Jar" Makeup Tips
Celebrity makeup artist Mally Roncal shows you several ways to stretch a buck by making your makeup last longer:
Lip gloss
If your lip gloss container is close to empty, place it in a mug of hot water for 5 to 10 minutes. The product will fall to the bottom of the tube and suddenly you have half a tube left!
Any tubed products
Buy an inexpensive plastic paint tube key, which is sometimes used to squeeze toothpaste tubes, to get every last drop out of concealer, lotion, foundation — anything that comes in a tube!
Squirt bottles of lotion
"Once it stops squirting doesn't mean that it's empty," Mally says. She suggests using kitchen shears to cut the bottle in half, then take a spoonula to transfer the remaining lotion to a glass jar.
