Mark Consuelos
Mark Consuelos is loving his new stint on Oprah's Friday Live series, and he continues to fill in as co-host alongside his wife, Kelly Ripa, on Live with Regis and Kelly from time to time. But sitting in front of a room full of women has its risks! He recalls one particularly rough morning on the air after he and Kelly had a tiff. "She said, 'Well, we're going to have the audience referee this argument. And it was all women! I was like a kamikaze pilot -- I went down in flames! I'm like, 'Don't you understand where I'm coming from?' and the women are going, 'You are wrong!'"
The couple, who recently celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary, are gearing up for their annual family summer vacation with their three kids. "We like to go out West when it's nice, like 115 degrees. It's like the great American minivan vacation!" Mark says. He's also busy starring in two Lifetime Movie Network pictures this summer, Hostile Makeover and Killer Hair, which he describes as a who dunnit. "It's kind of like Nancy Drew meets Sex and the City where it's really all about the clothes," Mark says. "They're called crimes of fashion!"
Mark tells Rachael about a new campaign he's working on with Lever 2000 about the importance of touch. He explains that it's not only parents who are feeling the impact of the current economic crisis, but that studies have shown that the stress trickles down to children. "So what do you do? You give your kids a hug," Mark says. "My soon-to-be 12-year-old boy won't let me hold his hand anymore, he's too cool for that, but I can still give him a hug. It makes him feel good."
