Michael Bublé On His Dream Date
He performs all over the world and has sold 11 million albums, but singer Michael Bublé tells Rachel there’s one dream he has yet to achieve. “My dream date would be to hang out with you and watch Harry Connick, Jr.,” Michael says. “We could cook for each other. You would make some beautiful thing, I would make microwave popcorn.” (Watch Rachael and Michael cook as he serenades her in the kitchen. Click on the video above.)
Rachael jokingly swoons at his flirtation and quickly reminds him of his girlfriend, actress Emily Blunt. She tries for some details about the celebrity couple and asks who does the cooking in their kitchen. "Both of us cook and we watch you," he says. That is, when they can get together. Michael says dating another performer comes with its challenges. “You almost wish that each other didn’t have that career because it does cause some difficulties. You don’t see each other as much,” Michael says. “And for me, it’s me having to watch her in a love scene and the guy is this beautiful, 6’5, chiseled ‘ooh he’s got abs’ kind of guy.”
The singer of course has his own set of admirers, including female fans who occasionally give him gifts. Michael says he goofed when a fan gave him a teddy bear and he passed it to his tour manager’s 3-year-old daughter. “When she squeezed it for a hug it said, ‘I want to beep, beep, beep you,’” Michael says. “I think I traumatized the poor kid.”
Though his third studio album, Call Me Irresponsible, is getting some attention for the song "Everything" he wasn’t always in such demand from fans. Michael says when he shopped for his first CD the shop clerk gave him something else. “I looked at it and it was Michael Bolton.”
