Michael Chiklis
Emmy® and Golden Globe-winning actor Michael Chiklis is enough of a risk taker to do his own stunts on his recent series, No Ordinary Family, but says jumping off buildings in carefully orchestrated scenes for his role has left him envying the superhero and family man he plays on the show! "I'm a husband, I'm a father," he explains. "I'm always very protective. So I think super strength and being invulnerable ... would really work for me!"
Michael is also well known for his work on The Shield and The Commish, but starring in a television series is not his only artistic outlet. "I've played in bands since I was literally in junior high, but that pesky acting career got in the way," he jokes. He is now returning to the mic and is out with his debut single titled "'Til I Come Home." He found inspiration for the lyrics after learning that his cousin, who is in his fourth tour of duty in Afghanistan, would not make it home for the holidays. "I just had this image of my cousin in a hole somewhere writing a hopeful love letter to his wife," Michael explains. "Everybody seems to focus on all the political angles about this thing, but what gets lost and people forget about is the humanity of it, and the human factor, that these are husbands, fathers, daughters, brothers." To help raise that awareness, he is dedicating the song to the troops. "This is a hopeful sort of anthem for those people and I'm proud of it." Click here to check out his single on iTunes.
When he's not singing or acting, Michael says he also loves to do impressions, so Rachael asks for his best Marlon Brando. Watch the video above to see his performance, which is based on a phone call the two actors once shared when Marlon gave Michael some unexpected advice!
