Talk about the show

A classic TV duo comes down in the elevator as Rachael greets the final "Mystery Tasters" of the season! She learns their hit series ran on CBS in the 1980s and that the actresses carried guns and badges. "I've got this one," Rachael announces. "It's Cagney & Lacey!"

The Emmy®-winners head to the kitchen table for a crime show reunion and Rachael asks how police officers reacted to them in their heyday. "It would depend," Sharon Gless recalls. "I was in Beverly Hills and got stopped for a ticket and it was a Los Angeles Police officer - and he gave me the ticket. So, they didn't care!" But where she and co-star Tyne Daly did have influence, was with young female recruits who were inspired by their roles on the first female buddy cop show. "It used to make me pretty nervous when people would write and say that they decided to be police officers based on our television show," Tyne admits. "I would say, 'Sweetheart, reconsider!' But there are a number of officers who have said to me that they were."

The two seem inseparable now, but Sharon was the third actress to play Christine Cagney, getting the job when the show's producer decided to take the role in a different direction. Tyne says they bonded as a team by hanging out at Sharon's home one night. "I found out it was her birthday," she explains. "I went over to her house with two bottles of champagne and had a discussion ... by the end of it we were absolutely in sync!" Rachael praises their clever negotiation and jokes: "These are my kind of women!"

Sharon and Tyne then head backstage to answer fun questions including their ultimate vacation destination!
