Talk about the show

Does someone in your home think that they're "above the law?" Nancy Grace, host of the number one show on HLN and author of The Eleventh Victim, steps in to give the final verdict for 6 audience members whose domestic disputes need a final ruling!

"Roommates for Improvement"

Best friends Michael and Shelita have very different opinions on how often to clean the apartment they share. "If it were up to me, the apartment would look sparkling clean," says 28-year-old Michael, who wishes Shelita didn't leave dishes in the sink, rings in the bathtub, and picked up a broom more often. "When I get home from work and I see her mess all around, my head hurts," he complains. "She's got to clean up!" Shelita, who's been friends with Michael since childhood, thinks he's a neat freak and that his rules are a bit extreme. "I clean up once a week," she maintains. "We don't have to see eye to eye on everything," she says, "but it shouldn't be a museum when people walk in."

Nancy's verdict: "First of all, what each of you do in your own room is your business," she tells them. "That's what doors are for - shut them. I've got to say, that sink is gross! And he should not have to come home from work every day and clean up the kitchen. So, the common area must be kept clean. And as good of friends as you are, I would just consider a one-bedroom apartment for each of you ... I would hate for the sink to come between you!"

"Paw & Order"

Ever since Elizabeth and her mom Ruth adopted an English Sheepdog named Shakespeare years ago, the dog has slept with Elizabeth, who has also been the pooch's primary caretaker. Now that Elizabeth is moving in with her boyfriend, she wants to take Shakespeare along. Ruth, however, thinks the dog should stay with her because it was her idea to get him in the first place, he'll make a great watchdog when she's an empty-nester, and she's capable of caring for him.

Nancy's verdict: "I'm stunned that you said, 'It was my idea to get a dog, so I should have it,'" Nancy tells the mom. "A dog is not a plant." Nancy also points out that Elizabeth has shouldered the responsibilities over the years, not Ruth. "And if you need a watchdog, get another dog," she advises the mom. "There are plenty of dogs at the pound that need a home desperately. But Elizabeth has got the love."
