Neil Patrick Harris
Rachael is thrilled to invite Neil Patrick Harris back to the kitchen table so they can talk about their favorite show, American Idol! "Who's going to take the final?" Rachael asks, and Neil doesn't think twice about his response: "I think Adam's the man. He's got that crazy voice and Idol has never had someone like him before on the show." Rachael agrees and compliments the singer's range, which Neil also appreciates, "except when he sticks his tongue out in that pointy way at the end of those high notes!" Rachael laughs at the description and says, "It worked for Gene Simmons!"
Neil is living out his own reality show dream as a participant in the upcoming Bravo series Top Chef Masters, which debuts in June. "I got to be a judge!" Neil raves. The series invites professional chefs to compete for charity, and the food lover admits he found the critiques to be a bit of a challenge. "When they are amateur chefs," he explains, "it is easier to be critical of them. When they are professional chefs, it is a little more daunting. They want you to say what you don't like about their food, but you don't want to seem blasphemous and never get invited to their restaurants again!"
For now, you can catch the actor on Monday's How I Met Your Mother finale, which offers new developments to the plot. "We'll learn more about the mother," Neil teases. "We'll learn more about Ted - he's going to take a nice left turn in the last episode. And we'll see what happens with this whole Barney-Robin situation." As Barney, Neil plays a bachelor who prides himself on his conquests. Those dating techniques are the theme of the comedic book, The Bro Code. "It's like on the self-help best seller list," Neil says in amazement. "Next to Deepak Chopra is Barney Stinson giving advice!"
