Stores are packed with new trends for fall, but having so many choices can you leave you overwhelmed! Here to help is Marie Claire editor Zanna Roberts Rassi, who is breaking down four of the hottest new looks and showing you where to find them.

Plaid coat from The Gap: Zanna describes plaid as a "perennial trend," and suggests The Gap for feminine cuts in the popular pattern. "Gap has done a full turnaround; they are fashion-forward and have these fabulous pieces!" she says.

J. Crew "midi" skirt: "Forget the mini, girls, everything is below the knee cap," Zana says, about this season's popular hemline. "We kind of livened it up with this really cute sweater, we don't want to go too 1940s housewife!"

Talbots tailored menswear: Overcoats are making a comeback this season as designers take their cue from the menswear department. "You could wear it with your jeans and a crisp white button down [shirt]," she says. "You can wear it over a cocktail dress. It is the essential!"

Ann Taylor hot pants: "Cherry red is the color of the season!" Zanna says. Pair the pants with neutral tops that are already in your wardrobe. "Do not wear another color with it, you'll wind up looking like a jester!"
