When Rach's buddy Nick Lachey drops by, she tries to get him to spill the beans about what his Valentine's Day plans for girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo. "I've got a few things whipped up," he says with a grin. "But I can't say it to you guys before I give it to her!" Though Nick may be tight-lipped on the specifics, he does tell Rachael that it won't be a big night out on the town. "It's a very personal, intimate day," Nick says, "and you don't necessarily want to share it with everybody ... 'Hey, honey, Happy Valentine's Day! I brought the paparazzi!'"

It's been decades since his most embarrassing Valentine's Day ever in the fourth grade, but he's still haunted by it. "There was this girl Sandy," Nick recalls, "and I made out my little Valentine, 'I really like you. Happy Valentine's Day, Nick.' I watched her open it from across the room and she smiled ... and then got up and went to the other Nick in the class and gave him a hug! So clearly Sandy was very into Nick, just not the right one!" Nick jokes, "That was my first Valentine's heartbreak - I've never been the same since. It's my motivation for every heartbreak song I've ever written!"

If you're stuck on what to buy for your significant other this holiday, Nick assures you that you don't have to spend a lot of money as long as you show that you've put some time and effort into it.
