Project Runway’s Nina Garcia is sharing the tips to help you dress appropriately for any occasion! Nina, who also serves as the Fashion Director for Marie Claire magazine, offers three looks that will take the guess work out of getting ready for your next event!

• Casual Party
Nina explains it is all about taking your look from day to evening. “It’s all about the jacket,“ she says. “It doesn’t need to be a double-breasted blazer, it could be something with a little decoration, a beautiful neckline, a beautiful shoulder … it’s the statement piece – I’m a big proponent of jackets because they pull the look together.”

• Cocktail Party
Nina says this look should show that you made an effort when putting your outfit together. You can perfect this look by using a decorated top or a statement necklace; even a simple tuxedo jacket can complete this look and still be appropriate for a cocktail-attire event.

• Formal or Festive Party
This look is all about having fun, and Nina suggests finding out where the party is or if there is a particular theme, because this can help you narrow down your outfit choices. “Have a little fun, be a little daring,” Nina says. “It’s not so serious!”
