Progressive Dinner Party

Progressive Dinner Party

Rachael gives four entertaining-phobic women a fun and easy solution: a progressive dinner party. Each person in the "party chain" is only responsible for one course, which takes away the pressure of having to prepare an entire meal. And, in between courses, you house-hop which keeps things lively and fun.

The party starts at Jeny's house with appetizers of Grilled Shrimp with Remoulade Sauce and Honey Mustard Chicken Wings. The salad course is served at Lorraine's. She tackles Rachael's Greek Village Vegetable Stacks. Tami takes on the main course of Grilled Chicken Parmigiana.

Progressive party tips:

  • If people are too spread out to do a progressive dinner party, plan this variation on a potluck dinner: Assign courses to everyone but assemble at one person's house.

  • Don't be afraid to try a new recipe, just make sure you keep it simple.

  • Don't have fine china or serving pieces? Dress up your plates with lettuce leaves or something creative like that.

  • Use EVOO as garnish... a drizzle on a serving platter or plate makes a great visual impact.

  • For picky eaters, make sure you have options.

  • If your guests are watching their waistlines, bite-sized desserts are a great idea.
