She has earned Grammy® and Golden Globe statues along with an Oscar® and an Emmy® nomination, but Queen Latifah attributes her success to more than her acting and singing talents. "When opportunities came around," she tells Rachael. "I always went for it ... My mom taught me growing up that every woman is a queen and should be treated that way. I guess that was her trying to get my little 16- or 17-year-old self not to let a guy mistreat me or not depend on a guy and just go for my dreams and my goals," she tells Rachael. "It just stuck with me."

As she approaches her 40th birthday, she's making sure she remains true to that approach. "I'm just trying to take inventory of my life and trying to make sure I'm moving forward into the next phase of my life in a positive, strong way. I thought about taking a motorcycle ride from Florida through the Keys or from L.A. to Cabo San Lucas, something fun like that or a bicycle ride for 1,000 miles, crazy stuff ... or maybe I'll just sleep in! Maybe I'll just get my rest on my 40th!"
