American Idol’s Randy Jackson is giving you the scoop on his fellow superstar judges, including what Steven Tyler needs before every show! "He's got a checklist before he goes out: check the teeth, check the zipper, check the ears, check the hair," Randy jokes. "One day a while ago they forgot the checklist, and he was like, it was like it was some superstition!" While he enjoys poking fun at his fellow judges, Randy is still thrilled to be on this long-running reality show. "We're so blessed to do what we do ... to have great kids come out to nurture their talent!"

Randy is also very open about his battle with type 2 diabetes and is teaming with Merck to raise awareness through the "Taking Diabetes to Heart" program. (Click here for more information) "It's really about helping people to manage type 2 diabetes and live a healthier lifestyle with it," he says. "I was diagnosed many many years ago, didn't know I had it, wound up in the emergency with a blood sugar over 500. A lot of people don't know they have it ... there's a lot of things to look out for, I stress, go to your doctor, find out everything you need to know."
