Who knows more about home cooking than grandmas? A New York restaurateur is turning this sentiment into a thriving business. "We have Italian grandmas coming in and cooking their mother's and grandmother's dishes," explains Enoteca Maria owner Joe Scaravella. "I think it's probably the simplest possible concept. It's just, 'Mom make me something to eat!'"

Every night the ladies arrive at his Staten Island location armed with recipes for fettuccine, baked ziti, and every Italian specialty you can imagine, eager to share their families' favorite dishes with a new crowd. So what's the most popular dish on the menu? Grandmother and chef Rosaria can't speak for the customers, but says confidently, "In my house, hands down it's my baked ziti!"
