Richard Marx Performs
He's sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and written 13 number one songs, but '80s rock balladeer Richard Marx was not looking for fame when he wrote his first song at 15 - he was simply following what he learned in Elvis movies. "When Elvis liked a girl that didn't like him back, he would sing a song for her and she would fall in love with him," he says, so he tried the same strategy with a girl he liked. "I actually got her in a room and I sang it to her," he recalls. "It didn't work!"
Decades later, he's now not only known for his songwriting, but also for his '80s hair. "I didn't invent the mullet, but I sure perpetuated it!"
Richard brings his guitar to Rach's studio and offers to perform "Shoud've Known Better" and "Right Here Waiting" while sharing the stories behind the hits.
