Bridesmaids: Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta's Monte Durham suggests going with shorter dresses for the women in your wedding party. "It makes the bridesmaids happy because in theory you can wear this again — it has more wearing power instead of a formal gown," he explains. To narrow down the color he suggests considering the season of your wedding date. "Take your cue from nature and you can pick colors that will make sense."

Grooms: "Keep it very clean and simple — if you're wearing an ivory dress they still need white shirts," he says. "If you don't want a bow tie, put a tie on him. Please do not add color to a vest, a tie or pocket square — they don't want to go to [the] prom."
