Scott Baio ... & His Baby!
It's been 25 years since Scott Baio first made teen girls swoon as Chachi on Happy Days, and he's continued to keep his fans entertained with his work on Charles in Charge, Diagnosis Murder, and his reality shows Scott Baio's 45 and Single and Scott Baio's 46 and Pregnant. He tells Rachael what it's been like having such a lengthy career ... and over 10,000 fan clubs dedicated to him. "I am an insanely lucky guy," Scott says. "I've been blessed to work pretty much non-stop in this business, whether it's been acting or directing or producing."
Rachael asks Scott what he would do if his 14-month-old daughter Bailey one day wanted to follow in his showbiz footsteps. "I would probably discourage her," he admits. "There's too much rejection, and a lot of using and a lot of manipulation. Knowing now what I know, I would not want to see her go through all the stuff I went through and what other people go through."
When asked about his little girl, Scott says there's only one word to describe her: delicious. "I can't imagine not seeing my daughter every day," beams the proud dad, who tries to persuade Rachael to have one of her own. "Knowing how you are," Scott tells her, "you would be an amazing mother and you would never even know where you get it from."
Scott's latest project, Confessions of a Teen Idol, co-produced by his friend Jason Hervey of The Wonder Years, focuses on the lives of Hollywood heartthrobs from the '80s and '90s. Rachael has a chance to talk to three when they pop by for a visit: Christopher Atkins of The Blue Lagoon, Baywatch's Jeremy Jackson and The Real World's Eric Nies. "The show is an examination of fame," Scott explains, "because fame is an interesting drug, for lack of a better word. It's the story of these guys and each story is different and each story is fascinating."
