Chef Mario Batali drops by to show Rachael his recipe for Schiaffetoni, a stuffed manicotti meal that would be perfect for your whole family to enjoy together, which is one of the goal's Mario is promoting with Share the Table: The Barilla Family Dinner Project. "[Barilla] found that what Americans really want to do is have more dinners together with their families," Mario explains. "What that does is it creates a much better sense of communication. It makes everyone feel like they're more integrated with the family. And the key to the whole thing is turning off and unplugging; you have to sit down and have an uninterrupted meal with your family at least a couple of times a week."
For the first 150,000 people who visit Share the Table and promise to make their family's dinnertime more meaningful, Barilla will donate $1 to Meals on Wheels. "It's a win-win for everybody," Mario says, "and most importantly for the family because once they start having dinner together at the table, they become a lot closer and smarter - more intelligent, more successful, and more beautiful!"
To help inspire your family to eat together, enter for a chance to win a Mario dinner gift pack featuring manicotti, a wooden spoon, the recipe and Mario's measuring bowl set!
You're used to seeing Mario in the kitchen, but what does this chef like to do when he's not whipping up delicious Italian meals? "Here's two things you don't know about me," Mario says backstage. "I'm an avid but miserable golfer, and I love Brahms!" For more fun backstage with Rachael's guests, click here!
