Super Bowl Recipe Playoff IV
With the big game this Sunday, it's time for Rachael's fourth annual Super Bowl® Recipe Playoff! Last year, Nick Lachey crowned Miami Dolphins quarterback Chad Henne the champ with his winning recipe of Grilled Steak and Veggies. This year, Joe Theismann, NFL great and Super Bowl quarterback of the Washington Redskins, lines up to make the call when these three NFL greats go head-to-head in Rachael's kitchen:
• "I'm a force to be reckoned with," declares New York Giants defensive tackle Chris Canty. "On the field and in the kitchen! I didn't get to be 320 pounds by not eating!" He's heating up the battle with his game-day staple, Spinach Artichoke Dip. "My competitors have absolutely no chance," Chris says. "This dish is going to blow them away!"
• Garrett Hartley, kicker for last year's Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints, is kickin' it Big Easy-style with his Crawfish Etouffee. "This etoufee is going to be so good," he boasts, "I'm not even worried about what the other guys are going to cook." As far as not being as big as the other players, Garrett says intimidation isn't even a factor: "They might be bigger than me out on the field, but once I get'em in the kitchen, they can't fill my shoes!"
• New England Patriots defensive tackle Ron Brace explains that his secret blend of spices and seasonings makes his steak dish a big hitter. "I do expect to win," he predicts. "I'm not even going to do any trash talking; I'm going to let the dish do the talking."
Joe, who has owned his own restaurant for thirty years, explains what he'll be looking for in the players' recipes. "I know what good food looks like," he tells them. "I know what good food tastes like, I know what good food should look like, and I know when the people are happy when they've have good food. I'm looking forward to sampling everything you guys have because it's a nice blend of different things."
Before the champ is crowned, Rachael declares that everyone in the audience is winner, and gives them tickets to LOMBARDI on Broadway! But, there can only be one champ of the Super Bowl Recipe Playoff - Garrett Hartley!
