All My Children's Erica Kane has been a talk show host, a cosmetics executive, was addicted to painkillers, was accused of murder at least once, stabbed her husband, was facially disfigured in a car accident and has been married ten times, but in real life her latest drama has been the show's move to Los Angeles after 40 years in New York City! Susan Lucci tells Rachael how she's adjusted to the move. "Surprisingly well," admits the Emmy®-winning actress. "We went kicking and screaming when they told us we were moving to LA. Nothing against LA, it could have been anywhere, but New York is New York and we love it here. But the truth is, it's as good as it could possibly be - the first two weeks it was 74 degrees and sunny in January; LA made it easy for us to like it there!"
When Susan last visited Rachael, she demonstrated how the Malibu Pilates Chair helped her get into shape for her turn on Dancing with the Stars. Now Susan shares that she has her own line of FILA workout clothes, though Rachael jokes that the sexy 63-year-old would look fantastic exercising in any outfit. "She could work out in a potato sack and you'd say that's appealing!"
Susan has been a staple of daytime TV when she started the role of Erica Kane in 1970, and she offers a piece of advice to other women looking to get into entertainment. "I love what I do, and that's the key - do what you love," she says. "As an actor, you don't have it all to say as to how long you will get to stay on the show, and I just feel very lucky that I get to do what I dreamed of doing since I was a little girl. How lucky is that?"
