Dress up your table with what Rachael calls "affordable elegance!" Crafty viewer Stacey Ballis shares some of her great tips for decorating with everyday items from the dollar store!

Use sheer drapes to cover your table

Give your boring white tablecloths a rest and jazz things up with sheer, colored drapes. You can even hang them up after your party!

Trade in paper napkins for flour sack towels

Cloth napkins really make a difference. Use flour sack towels and decorate them with a fancy hair tie and a fake flower. You can even throw them in the wash and reuse them!

Get creative with place cards

Place cards always dress up a table and it's fun when someone sees where they're seated with a creative place card. Print out labels for these white cardboard favor boxes or write on them with a marker. Inside, put a shotglass with some water and some flowers.

Put a colander down as a centerpiece

Put a regular colander in the middle of your table over a pop light so it glows. Finish it off with a bowl of fresh flowers on top.

Stock up on tea light holders

Tea light holders can be used for multiple purposes, not just candles. When you find them, stock up -- good thing they're usually only 50 cents each! Give everyone their own condiments by filling them with butter, salt and pepper or even wasabi if you're having Japanese food.

Turn soap dispensers and holders into condiment containers

Use soup dispensers and holders for honey and sugar at a tea party. At a barbeque, they can house mustard or ketchup and relish. For make-your-own-sundae night, fill the dispenser up with chocolate syrup and the holder with chopped nuts.

Dress up your table with plastic charger plates

Charger plates really make an impressive visual impact. The best part? Plastic works just as well! The ones that look like pewter or real plates tend to be a little pricier than a dollar, but since you're not really using them, they can be used over and over again!
