Terry Fator
When Terry Fator's ventriloquism skills won him the top prize on America's Got Talent, one of the first things he did was upgrade a special purchase he'd made during his days as a struggling performer. "When I won the million dollars," he tells Rachael, "I took my wife to a jewelry store and bought her a wedding ring, because I'd had to buy her a $10 dollar wedding band."
Terry (and his puppets) will soon be performing at the Mirage Casino and Resort in Las Vegas as part of a five-year deal worth a reported $100 million. Rachael asks him what life has been like since getting this huge opportunity. "Unbelievable!" he exclaims. "A little over a year ago I was a complete unknown. I was playing little county fairs -- in the back of the fair they'd stick me on the dirtiest stage playing for first graders ... and here I am now the headliner at the Mirage. It's pretty astounding."
In addition to his professional triumphs, Terry has also overcome some personal obstacles, which he chronicles in his book, Who's the Dummy Now?
