Kristan Cunningham gives a quick tutorial on the one tool you can't live without: a power drill. With so many different attachments, this one tool can do almost everything. Here are a few solutions to simple D.I.Y. projects, plus ideas for more creative endeavors.
Think of a drill as your wardrobe and the drill bits on the end as the accessories. Dress up your drill as you see fit, depending on what you're taking on!
A regular drill bit is handy for multiple reasons: If you run out of holes on your belt, add a new one by drilling a hole into the leather. Then do a happy dance for needing to cinch in the belt a little more!
The paint attachment enables you to mix old cans of touch-up paint that have been sitting around for who-knows-how-long. (No matter what it looks like, this shouldn't be used as a substitute egg beater.)
The forstner bit makes large holes. Use it to drill a hole in a desk to feed computer and other electrical wires through. You'll amaze people with your handiness!
The paddle bit comes in all different diameters and is great for carving pumpkins! Fill the holes with the opaque stones used for the bottoms of fish tanks to get a "Lite-Brite" effect. Watch the video above to see Kristan create a cool jack o'lantern!
