The Return of Audience Incognito!
Rachael's got an extra cameraman on hand today -- sort of -- because Mark Consuelos is in disguise as a crew member for a round of "Audience Incognito." When Mark takes off his wig and gets comfortable at the kitchen table, Rachael wants to know about his marriage to morning TV host Kelly Ripa.
Mark cautions Live With Regis and Kelly viewers not to believe everything they hear when Kelly talks about their family. "You gotta cut everything in half, there's a little bit of exaggeration," he jokes. Mark says he's learned it's best to not tell his wife what topics are off limits. "If I do say that, that's probably the first thing she talks about so I kinda like, play the Jedi mind trick, I don't mention it."
In his made-for-TV movie, Husband for Hire, Mark plays a guy who is persuaded to marry a woman who has to find a suitable mate in 24-hours to claim her share of an inheritance. Mark says he lived out a childhood fantasy by working with one particular actor on the set. "I got to work with Mario Lopez and Tempest Bledsoe," he says, "and then my hero -- you know I'm a kid of the 80s -- so Eric Estrada! He was so nice -- the coolest guy."
When he's home with his family, Mark says he's not the one to handle the cooking. "I don't really cook," he admits. "I'm a grill guy. So if you can throw it on an open fire I can cook it." So is Kelly a good cook? "She is -- she goes for it on the weekends. She stays in the kitchen, she's very traditional about that stuff."
