The man behind Madea, Tyler Perry, is back at the kitchen table with stories from the Oscars®, including the backstage mix-up that almost ended his night! "I went up to present [an award], and I'm thinking this is my big moment," he recalls. "I'm standing there at the stage about to go on and security comes up: 'Sir, could you move please? Where are your credentials?' ... I almost got removed!" he jokes. "The security there is ridiculous. I'm standing there in my Prada tux thinking come on man, you don't recognize me?"

He's following up his work as a producer for Precious: Based on the Novel Push by going in front of the camera for the comedy Why Did I Get Married Too? with Janet Jackson and Jill Scott. Tyler notes that he wrote the screenplay for this movie as part of his lifelong quest to understand women, which he realizes may be a futile effort. He explains, "I've been in five serious relationships in my adult life and I think I'm scarred from a few of them, so I'm still writing about them," he says. "It's universal themes anybody from any race or any walk of life can relate to."
