Do you cringe when football season returns? Are Sundays endless days as you wait for the game to wrap up so you can do something else with your man? Fret no more. Rachel’s new buddy Valerie Bertinelli says she loves pig skin and wants teach you everything you need to know to embrace the game and bring some joy back to the season.

An avid New Orleans Saints fan, Valerie says a trip to the stadium is not just about scrimmages and touchdowns. “I just love the sound of the crowd and the roar, and the tight pants! All those men are so gorgeous,” she says.

She first watched the game as a child when her father coached her three brothers. Now Valerie says for her there is “nothing sexier” than being in the Louisiana Superdome for a big game.
Valerie wants you to have just as much as fun as she does when the quarterbacks snap into action, and gives Rachael some tips for a fun filled football season.

Make game day one big party. “We all have our book clubs but do we ever really talk about the book? No it's about the wine and the food right?,” Valerie says. “Have a party. Super Bowl Sunday is a national holiday in our house, every Sunday can be like that.” And, make sure to include your friends on the guest list so you’ll have someone to talk to during the game.

Be passionate about your team fashion. Valerie says if you do decide to watch some football or go to the stadium it’s more fun if you personalize your game day apparel. Pick out some colorful team merchandise and gear up for the game.

Learn to cheer at the right moments. You don’t want to be caught in a cheer when the home team has lost a point. Learn your team colors and follow those jerseys all the way to the end zone.

Negotiate other time with your man. If you’ve tried your best but still can’t tell the difference between a touch down and a penalty, Valerie says it’s time to negotiate. “Let him have Sunday and then do something with him on Saturday.” Valerie says. “And if you’re going to give him Sunday -- give it to him. Let him have it, because there are a lot of games during the day and you can’t be walking in going, ‘Is the game over yet?’”

And, Rachael chimes in with her suggestion for taking advantage of football Sunday. If he’s glued to the TV counting touchdowns all afternoon you can make that your spa day.
