Rachael loves surprises, but not when she has to stick her hand in a box and guess what creature Jarod the "Animal Guy" has for her! To get Rachael ready for a game of, "What Am I Touching?," Jarod warms her up with a few impressive specimens from the wild kingdom.
"The Eurasian Eagle Owl could actually eat a mouse the size of your finger," Jarod tells Rach. "This owl has 14 bones in its neck (twice as many as humans) and can turn its head 280 degrees!"
"His mouth opens relatively easily," Jarod notes of the baby American alligator, "but his mouth comes down -- even at this size -- with 300 pounds of pressure per square inch. When full size, an alligator bite feels like a car dropping on your foot … with teeth."
Jarod explains the presence of spots on the three-month-old mountain lion. "They are monochrome when they’re adults," he says, "but when they’re babies they have to be camouflaged to survive in the woods."
“It feels like the thing I clean boots with!” says Rach after touching the Malgasy Tenrec. Jarod notes that the rare creature from Madagascar "doesn’t stick you like a porcupine; he just has these little quills so if you stick him in your mouth it hurts."
When the audience squeals at the sight of the African giant millipedes, Rach screams in protest: "I’m NOT putting my hand in there! Pull it out and I will touch it with my finger!" Jarod is quick to respond: "This reminds me of high school!" When Jarod tries to put one of the many-legged creatures on Rach, she uses her own legs to run screaming around the studio to get away!
