When to Pop a Pimple & Other Skin Secrets
Aired on: April 17, 2012

When three viewers share their sensitive skin issues, Rachael calls in her own personal dermatologist, Dr. Anne Chapas, to uncover the dirty truths we all have to "face"!

"Should I pop my pimples?"
"I generally say you should never squeeze a pimple," Dr. Chapas says, "but since 79 percent of people admit to squeezing them, I'm going to show you the right way without getting a scar or an infection." Tune in today to get Dr. Chapas' method for safely squeezing your pimples.

"How do I avoid waking up with puffy circles under my eyes?"
Dr. Chapas explains, "A lot of times puffiness comes because as we're sleeping in a horizontal position, our blood vessels are very leaky and liquid accumulates in our under-eye bags." She recommends sleeping with two pillows to elevate your head so that the fluid drains naturally as you're sleeping. "The other thing you can do," Dr. Chapas adds, "is a facial massage to massage out that fluid in the morning." Watch the video above to get her massage techniques.

"How can I get rid of my spider veins?"
"Spider veins are very common," Dr. Chapas says. "It's actually part of a rosacea picture for a lot of people that affect over 14 million Americans." The doc says she uses Excel V laser from Cutera, which she calls a "magic eraser" because it claims to actually erase the blood vessels right before your eyes. Dr. Chapas says the results last about a year, and treatments can range from $400 to $700.
