For women who want a little boost "up top" without going under the knife, Anna and Kristina, also known as the "Shopping Bags," share some non-invasive options for enhancing your assets.
Inserts
There are two types of inserts: silicone and foam. Anna and Kristina prefer silicone inserts (also known as chicken cutlets) because they look and feel the most natural. They heat up with your body temperature and tend to stay in place, even in a top with little support. You can even find cutlets with nipples for added realism.
They come in various sizes so try them on in the store. Smaller ones are better for creating cleavage as they can be placed at the sides of the bra and can push the breasts inward, toward the breast bone. Larger ones increase overall size.
Silicone can be too heavy for bathing suits, in which case you want to opt for foam inserts. However, the foam will soak up water. You might want to give them a gentle, discreet squeeze to drain out water before you lie down on your towel.
Push-Up Bras
Examine the bra so you know how it will enhance your chest. Straps that come up from the center of the cup will pull everything up and create more cleavage; straps that sit at the side of the cup will spread your breast more and pull them out.
Anna and Kristina prefer push-ups with removable inserts. That way you can take them out when you want, or move them to bras that don't have inserts in them.
One of the newest things in push-up bras is the shelf. Your breasts just sit on top of the little shelf, which stays exactly in place. "You put'em on the shelf and the store looks nice and full!" jokes Rachael.
Push-up Bra No-No's
Beware of wearing push-up bras and inserts with very tailored clothing. When your chest is lifted, darts on shirts and jackets may not sit in the right place.
Seams down the front of a push-up bra tend to show through clothing. Avoid lacey push-up bras for the same reason. Save those for the bedroom!
