Yankees Theme Room Makeover

Joe is a huge Yankees fan who has never even been to a game because he devotes all of his time and energy to his wife and three daughters. And, the only room he calls his own is an office that is so cluttered with toys, that he ends up taking his laptop to the kitchen when he has to get some work done. "Right now he gets very little guy time," his wife Becky explains. "It would be great if Joe could have a space where he and his dad could watch a game ... they could just hang out together."

That's where Kristan Cunningham comes in! She's sending Joe to his first Yankees game in the Bronx, and while he's away she's transforming his cluttered home office into the ultimate "man room" using a sports theme. "The key to achieving a well done theme room that doesn't feel like a restaurant is to design a beautiful room and then add touches of that theme," Kristan explains. "One of the elements that I really wanted to incorporate into the room was a big, graphic Yankee pinstripe. So I decided to go with nylon rope." She drapes the rope vertically along dark blue walls, hangs vintage Yankee photos on the walls, and selects new furniture so the room can double as an office. Do you want Kristan's help? Becky is moved to tears when she sees the room, and Joe is thrilled. "The first thing I saw was the stadium on the wall -- that looks awesome!" Joe says. "It couldn't be better."
