Thanksgiving is arguably the biggest cooking day of the year; whether you're making stuffing, vegetables or turkey, your oven is going to be getting a serious workout on Thursday.

As your dishes go in and out of the oven, make sure to keep an eye on its temperature throughout the day. One way to do this is to simply buy an oven thermometer, which you can pick up at your local grocery store. This is true especially for people cooking with an older oven.

"The older your oven is, the more [temperature control] becomes a problem," Rachael Ray says. "Buy an oven thermometer and adjust accordingly."
