Alexa von Tobel, CEO of LearnVest.com, is here to reveal how you can get the best deals on Cyber Monday while staying within your budget.

Rule 1: Set a Budget

If you want to make sure that you can afford your purchases, make sure that you set a budget before you shop.

Rule 2: Use Credit, Not Debit

Use credit cards to take advantage of any rewards programs, and also so that you can easily track your spending and process returns easily.

Note – If you have major credit card debt, by all means, use your debit card.

Rule 3: See it In Person

Whenever you make a major purchase online, make sure you go see it in a physical store first to make sure it fulfills your needs.

Rule 4: Take Your Time

Don’t be impulsive – you don’t have to buy anything today. Take your time and only purchase things that make sense for your budget and your needs.

Rule 5: Secure Sites Only

Make sure when you visit a shopping web site, you see “https” in the URL when you are checking out. You want to make sure the site you are purchasing from is secure so that your information will less likely to be stolen.

What is the best tip you are taking away from this? Share below, then watch to see Rach try to guess when the best time to buy various items is. Hint – she doesn’t get very many right!
