Powerhouse actress Alfre Woodard stars in the Netflix film "Juanita" as the movie's lead character — a woman with three grown children who takes an impromptu trip to Montana searching for something more.
And fun fact: based on the book by Sheila Williams, Dancing On The Edge Of The Roof, the film was written by her husband, Roderick Spencer — by her request!
"I said, 'I don't need [an] anniversary, birthday, or Christmas present,'" Alfre tells Rach. "I said, 'Just write this script for me.'"
And he did just that. How sweet!
And because Alfre's husband seems that wonderful, he had an idea to make Blair Underwood her fantasy boyfriend in the movie.
"When you're grown, you can say who you want to be in it," Alfre quips. (So maybe it wasn't *entirely* his idea…? )
