Are you the kind of person who constantly pins home décor DIYs, but never actually tries them because you're afraid to fully commit — or can't, because you're a renter? Do you worry that you won't like the finished product or stress about damaging your walls? We get it — which is why we're sharing some no-commitment DIYs that look great, but are as easy to remove as they are to put up.
Here, Pennies For a Fortune blogger Fariha Nasir, a mom and budget DIY pro with nearly 80k followers on Instagram, shows you how to create a board and batten "wall" without putting any nails in your existing wall.
"Board and batten walls are super-trendy right now," says Fariha. "I've done a permanent board and batten wall in my son's playroom." But if you're not ready to commit to a full-on wall renovation project (or if you're a renter), you can still try out this trend in your home. "I need to show you a way to do a board and batten wall which is reversible and damage-free," Fariha says.

All you need are Command Picture Hanging Strips, four pieces of MDF molding board for your vertical battens and one piece of MDF molding board to place horizontally. These boards are light enough to be held up by Command strips, Fariha says. Of course, you can use as many battens as you like. Just make sure for every four vertical boards, you have one horizontal board.
You'll need to measure and cut the molding to fit your wall. If you don't have a power saw, Fariha suggests using this miter saw and clamping box.
Place four Command strips along the length of each batten and across the horizontal piece. Follow the Command strip instructions to adhere to the wall.
If you want to, prime and paint as needed — but this step is optional. If you have a plain white wall, you should be all set!
How simple is that?
