You've likely been told to wash jeans sparingly — after two to three wears or just when it's absolutely necessary. But when you do clean them, how do you prevent holes in ripped jeans from spreading or dye from fading?
Celebrity stylist June Ambrose — who works with Beyoncé and Jay-Z! — has three different ways you can avoid wearing your denim down.
1. GIVE YOUR JEANS A BATH
June suggests essentially bathing your denim in soap and water, rather than throwing them in a washing machine.
As Rach puts it, send your jeans to the spa. We like that!

2. TREAT DENIM LIKE YOUR INTIMATES
If you are going to throw your jeans in the wash, put them in a lingerie bag first.
After all, "they're second skin," as June puts it.
"This way, they don't get caught on anything else in the wash," she continues. "And it won't distress the holes more."
3. PUT DARK DENIM IN THE FREEZER
Get this — because June doesn't want her dark denim to fade, she spritzes them with vodka and puts them in the freezer to refresh them.
(FYI, some experts say alcohol could mess with the dye, so you might want to dilute the vodka a bit first.)
