Book Concept: Dude That’s Vegan?!?! is a book of outside of the box vegan party snacks and two plus bite appetizers with festive flavor combinations. It’s vegan food for people who don’t think they like vegan food.
I’m the chef for a family owned microbrewery and restaurant called Woodward Avenue Brewers and The Emory in Ferndale, Michigan. I’m primarily self taught; learning a lot from chefs I’ve worked under, reading a ton of cookbooks and gleaning bits of inspiration from the fantastic cooks in my family. I’m a total work-a-holic…even when I’m not working I’m operating my own catering business called Sharp Personal Chefs, where I create custom menus for offsite and in home catering. I am also a partner in a company called Yum Village; Yum Village is an online platform pairing Metro-Detroit chefs with “pop-up” restaurant spaces so foodies can enjoy new dishes from up and coming chefs. I work hard so that I can give my beautiful wife Melissa and month old daughter Fiona the world; they deserve it. I just want to make everyone who loves and supports me proud.
