‘Creed’ star Tessa Thompson reveals that she wasn’t lip syncing throughout the film but she was, in fact, singing! With three of her songs on the movie’s soundtrack, Tessa explains how important it was to the director that whomever played the role of Bianca wrote the music. “It was a unique challenge for me because I basically had the space of two weeks to write this original music for you know a person who had arguably spent her whole life developing her musical voice,” explains Tessa. “But it was an incredible challenge for me.”

Tessa is also currently starring in an Off-Broadway play titled ‘Smart People,’ and it’s all about (You’ve guessed it!) smart people! Tessa explains that the play explores race, privilege, and sexual dynamics between men and women. “Lots of very fun territory,” jokes Tessa.  For more on Tessa Thompson, watch the videos on this page.
