When baking salmon (or any other fish, really), cooking time can vary widely.

The size and shape of the filet has a lot to do with it. A thick filet is going to take longer to cook than a thinner filet, but ultimately, you know your salmon is done when it’s opaque, firm and flaky.

A SIMPLE GUIDELINE:
For 8-oz filets, skin removed, try this. Preheat oven to 425°F and roast until the salmon is opaque, 16-18 minutes.

Adjust the cooking time depending on the size of your filets, but always check your fish frequently as it’s baking -- it’s not a dish you want to put in the oven and forget about.
