Cherry Sangria

serves 1 pitcher

INGREDIENTS
    2 plums, pitted and thinly sliced
    2 cups cherries, pitted
    6 to 8 basil leaves
    1/4 cup Kirschwasser or any cherry brandy
    1 orange, thinly sliced
    1 bottle red wine, such as Petite Syrah or Nero dAvola
PREPARATION

 

In a large pitcher, muddle plums, cherries and basil with the Kirschwasser to release some of their juices. Add in oranges and wine. Stir to combine.

Serve in glasses over ice.
