Today is National Cheeseburger Day! And as it turns out, cheeseburgers can come in many different forms -- like crispy rice cereal form!
And that’s where food artist Jessica Siskin (A.K.A. Mister Krisp) is the expert.
When she visited our show, she brought an epic crispy rice cheeseburger (and adorable mini ones!) -- and boy did we want a bite. Watch her make it in the video above!
“Rice krispy treats are the only things I know how to cook,” Jessica admits.
And if you want to make one yourself, we’re not lying when we say the whole burger is made out of crispy rice, marshmallows and food coloring (brown for the patty, yellow and orange for the cheese, green for the lettuce, red for the tomato).
Pro tip: Use mini marshmallows, as they tend melt a lot more evenly -- and don’t let them melt down to liquid!
Now, if you’ve ever wondered why Jessica calls herself “Mister Krisp,” so has Rach -- so she inquired.
“Mister Krisp is actually the name of the villain in the move ‘Sister Act 2,’ which is one of my favorite films,” she explains to Rach. “And when I started this Instagram (TK LINK), I had no idea that five years later, I’d be standing with Rachael Ray, explaining that!”
Fair point, Jessica, fair point.
Check out Jessica’s new book, “Treat Yourself!” for more of her crispy rice creations -- and see a few more of her other masterpieces below!
