Dr. Whitney Bowe is here to show off six beauty treatments that she says can transform your look, some that you can do at the doctor’s office or spa, and others that you can even do at home!
NOTE: ALWAYS CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE UNDERGOING ANY PROCEDURE OR TREATMENT TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE AN APPROPRIATE CANDIDATE FOR THE PROCEDURE AND TO HEAR ABOUT ALL THE POSSIBLE RISKS AND SIDE EFFECTS THAT MAY BE ASSOCIATED WITH EACH PROCEDURE.
Treatment 1: Glycolic Peel
Our skin frequently gets dull in the winter, so Dr. Bowe suggests using a glycolic peel to remove the top layer of skin. The effects can last for about a month, and the price is typically between $100 and $300.
Treatment 2: Lip Injections
Dr. Bowe does a lip injection procedure on an audience member to give her lips more volume. The effect can last for about a year, and the price is about $750 to $1,000 per syringe.
Tip: Dr. Bowe says there is a “golden ratio” when it comes to the size of your lips. She says that you want your lower lip to be 1.618 times the size of your upper lip. She says that when the top lip is made significantly bigger via lip injections, it tends to look fake, so make sure to keep that ratio in mind if you are having a treatment done.
Treatment 3: Plumping Lip Gloss
If you’re looking for the appearance of bee-stung lips without the needle, try a plumping lip gloss, which contains ingredients that slightly irritate your lips, making them puff up.
Treatment 4: Juice to Even Your Skin Tone
Dr. Bowe suggests drinking a juice that contains a lot of beta carotene if you’re looking to naturally even out your skin tone.
Treatment 5: At Home Cellulite Treatment
Dr. Bowe demonstrates how to use a caffeinated body cream and a vacuum massager to attempt to reduce the appearance of cellulite.
Treatment 6: CoolSculpting Treatment for Body Bulges
If you have stubborn bulges on your inner thighs, or even under your chin, Dr. Bowe claims that this treatment may be able to improve their appearance. The price is about $1,000 per hour, but Dr. Bowe claims that the results can be long-lasting.
