If you want to refresh your makeup routine without digging deep into your pockets, make a shopping list of these six essentials, which all cost less than $10 (including one for only $1!). Bonus? They all come highly recommended by makeup artist Cynde Watson.

Beauty Buy: Shea Moisture Face Wipes Coconut & Hibiscus Radiance Facial Wipes
Price: $6.99

Cynde says, “You want to clean and moisturize your skin before you do anything, to create a smooth surface for makeup.” She likes this product, because, “The coconut oil in them adds moisture and the hibiscus flower is a natural emollient.” Cynde recommends always wiping in an upward motion when cleansing to prevent premature aging.

Beauty Buy: NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat Powder Foundation
Price: $9.50

When choosing a foundation, Cynde advises, “To choose the right shade, swatch three shades on your jawline starting from the darkest to the lightest shade. The shade that disappears and looks like skin is your perfect shade.”

Beauty Buy: Maybelline New York Brow Pomade Crayon
Price: $9.99

This product can be used in three different ways -- on your brows, as eyeshadow and also as eyeliner. Talk about stretching a buck! When choosing a shade, Cynde recommends, “Make sure you select a shade that matches your brow color, not your hair color.”

Beauty Buy: Maybelline New York VOLUM’ EXPRESS The Falsies Mascara
Price: $6.99

Cynde says, “Look for a mascara that has a spoon-like contoured brush, and a water-resistant formula that builds five-to-eight-times more volume and two-to-three-times length.” Why water resistant and not waterproof? Cynde says water resistant mascara is easier to remove and not as damaging to your eyelashes.

Beauty Buy: ELF Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder
Price: $4

Cynde gives some priceless instructions for choosing a blush and bronzer shade. She says your blush should be the same color as your cheeks if you pinch them, while bronzer should match your natural tan -- the color of your forehead after being in the sun or the color of your left arm if you spend a lot of time driving.

Beauty Buy: LA Colors Lip Gloss and Lipstick Duos
Price: $1

It’s pretty easy to see why this product made Cynde’s list -- it features both lipstick and lipgloss for only $1! You can apply either on their own or layer for extra glamour.
