As school begins to let out, many parents are left with the age-old question of how to keep your kids active and happy during summer vacation.

Matthew McConaughey's better half, Camila Alves, is helping you solve that dilemma with three fun activities using items you may already own in your home.

Check them out, below.

A Make-Your-Own Lava Lamp

1 water bottle
Vegetable oil
Food coloring
1 Alka-Seltzer tablet

Pour vegetable oil into 3/4 of a water bottle. Fill the rest with water.

Let the water bottle settle for a few minutes.

Then, add drops of food color into the bottle at your own discretion. Let the food coloring settle at the bottom. If the food coloring does not settle, take a stick and swish the liquid around to blend in the coloring.

Drop a tablet of Alka-Seltzer into the bottle.

Make-Your-Own Tile Paint

Corn starch
Liquid hand soap

Add a quarter cup of corn starch into a bowl. Then, add 1/8th of a cup of hand soap and whisk together.

As you whisk, add in food coloring and water. If the paste is too thick, continue to add water until you are satisfied.

Make-Your-Own Snow

Baking Soda
Hair Conditioner

Add baking soda into a bowl. Slowly mix in hair conditioner until you get a snow-like feel. Decorate as you see fit.
