Dr. Mehmet Oz answers one of the most frequently Googled medical questions: What is a normal blood pressure reading?

He says, “A lot of things can influence a blood pressure reading, like what you’ve had to eat and drink and whether you have an empty stomach or bladder.”

But that said, there is a normal range. “Your blood pressure is supposed to be under 140 over 90, optimally closer to 120 over 80,” he explains.
